The following fee schedule applies to students registering in courses that have an August 1, 2008 or later start date.
How Fees are Calculated
Course fees are calculated by combining the tuition fees, course-related text fees, lab and other materials fees, and the learner association fees.
Learner association fees are charged to each student to help cover the cost in such areas as convocation ceremonies, special events, orientation activities, and lunch room and study space.
Lab and materials fees include printed instructional materials, lab facilities fees, equipment, maintenance, lab supplies, etc. These fees are specific to each program and are due with tuition. Please refer to the Pre-Career and Professional Program academic calendar sections for specific lab and material fees for each program.
Fees are listed, payable in Canadian dollars, and effective August 1, 2009 – July 31, 2010. Academic-related fees are exempt from the federal Goods and Services Tax.
There may be additional charges for co-operative education, field trips, and for other specialty items in a particular course. See Pre-Career and Professional Program sections of the Academic Calendar for more detail.
Miscellaneous fees for small items such as binders, calculators, home lab materials, etc., may be associated with some Columbia College courses, and are the responsibility of the student.
