Medication Administration Course for Health Care Aides

Health Care Aides (HCA’s) are the primary caregivers in a variety of settings. Their role continues to evolve and now includes assisting with medication administration delivery. The course is designed for Health Care Aides and does not cover medication injections.

This course will prepare the Health Care Aides to safely and effectively assist with medications under the supervision of a health care professional. Upon completion of the course, participants will gain confidence required to respond and successfully fulfill their expanding roles as Health Care Aides.

• Describe roles and responsibilities to be followed for medication reminders, medication assistance and medication administration.
• Appropriate training for the unregulated caregiver to ensure safe medication administration.
• Student will demonstrate skills and knowledge with medication administration.
