Columbia does not have a student residence. However, the College is situated close to a large residential area where students may find accommodation in houses, apartments, duplexes or basement suites. Many landlords post suitable accommodation in local papers and on the internet. Students can access listings on College student bulletin boards.
Computer-Assisted Instruction supports the Academic Upgrading, English as a Second Language, and the Community Support Services Departments.
College personnel visit schools and community groups to provide information about the College. They also participate in career days and trade shows and distribute information to prospective students and student advisors.
The College is committed to developing the community. The College demonstrated this commitment by establishing an independent and separate non-profit society, The Columbia Learning Society. The Society offers free weekend skill-related courses for adults. The Columbia Learning Society also offers free tutoring services to school-age children to assist them with their academic studies.
Schools, special interest groups, show organizers or individuals requiring any of these services should contact the Special Projects Department by mail or call (403) 235-9323.
The City of Calgary operates nearby Light Rail Transit (L.R.T.) and bus service according to published schedule(s). Several bus routes are within minutes of the college. The Calgary Transit Service website is: www.calgarytransit.ca/.
