    Dental Assistant

We keep a careful watch on advancements and trends in the dental field, and you should as well. Continue reading to find out more about the dentistry business trends to watch in 2022.

A skilled dental assistant is required in every dental practise to guarantee that daily operations operate smoothly and efficiently. Dental assistants are the first point of contact for many patients visiting the dentist and are a friendly face in the dental office. They support the dentist by performing administrative tasks as well as participating in various activities.

    1.  The utilization of 3D printing technology has increased across a variety of industries, and the price of buying these printers has decreased. 3D printers are becoming more widely available in both university and private dental offices, and dental practises are no exception. False teeth, dental prototypes, surgical instruments, and dental crown components are just a few of the products and gadgets that dental offices can manufacture with 3D printers. As the benefits of 3D printing become more evident, we should expect to see more of these printers at dental offices across the country.
    1.  A massive change from private clinics to a dental franchise system is envisioned by 2022. Due to the high expense of maintaining a dental office, dental franchises often have more purchasing power and can provide services that an individual dentist may not be able to provide. Likewise, a dental franchise can develop and grow to create new offices in various places, something that a solo dental practice may find difficult to do.
    1.  The dental laser industry is predicted to expand between 2021 and 2025. The advantages it provides in terms of procedure and health when compared to regular dental drilling are the reasons for this. Dental lasering can be used on both soft and hard tissues, and it provides a more efficient way of completing dental procedures on patients, such as contouring tissue and removing cavities, as well as restoring fillings and accelerating teeth whitening.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations, including Chiniki, Bearpaw, and Wesley First Nations. The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We acknowledge that the land on which we gather in Mohkinstsis is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, language, ceremonies, and culture of the First Nations, Metis, and Inuit who call this territory home. As an organization, Columbia College acknowledges the use of this land to educate adults for a better future for all.
