Learners from the Criminal Justice Professional Program visited the kids and staff of Cornerstone Youth Centre in Mayland Heights recently. The Criminal Justice program allows for a significant contribution to the health and wellness of our communities through a combination of experiences, application of the classroom learning and relationships. By expanding our adult learners experiences beyond the classroom is critically important for the success in all areas of social and criminal justice career choices.
Our friends at Cornerstone Youth Centre have been one of many practicum placement organizations that allow interaction between those who we will serve in their future. In providing this fun and engaging learning environment, the kids of Cornerstone realize the benefit of our volunteer students and the time that they have with each other. According to our practicum students, it is our way of building quality relationships through learning that makes Columbia’s professional programs so great.
