CLB 2
English language training to develop basic ability to communicate in daily life situations and manage simple conversations. Basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing are developed to complete simple tasks in familiar situations.

CLB 3
English language training to develop adequate basic ability to understand and produce language needed to communicate in situations of immediate personal importance. Students will learn how to carry on conversations in social and service situations.

CLB 4/5
English language training to develop fluent basic ability to understand and communicate orally and in writting in both formal and informal situations. Canadian culture and information about life in Canada, how to look and find employment in Canada are part of the course curriculum.

CLB 5/6
English language training in four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing to develop abilities required to communicate with increasing effectiveness and confidence in a range of situations that may be less familiar and predictable. Students learn strategies to cope with communication challenges they face in various situations and ability to set further employment or educational goals to become active citizens of the community.
