Employment Training – Sales and Services
Covid-19 Response and our Delivery of Services
Facilitators will conduct remote lessons using materials shared via Moodle, email, and software suitable for each program. Equivalent class contact hours will be delivered remotely. Regular weekly telephone contact will be made with each student to answer individual questions.
Child Care Assistant practicum placements are being delivered using online simulations and Bookkeeping practicum placements are being replaced with online professional development.
At this time, all Employment Training classes will be delivered to students through a distance learning model. Each course will continue to be scheduled in their regular semesters, and will be expected to be delivered in the same time period as their face-to-face classes were. Classes may include (but are not limited to):
- Interactive webinars
- Discussion forums
- Group work
- Daily Tests
Daily Attendance and student progress on a continual basis is required for students who wish to continue to receive their funding each month.
Columbia College will continue to prepare to welcome you into our next intake in May 2020. Please note that in consideration of the direction provided by the Alberta Health Services at that time, the delivery method of the program may include distance learning activities for some or all of the courses. If you have questions about our May intake, please reach out to us as we look forward hearing from you.
