The beauty of creation lies in the fact that each one of us is unique. Everyone has their set strengths and weaknesses. All people should learn to embrace their strengths and strive to improve and grow.
At Columbia College of Alberta, we value the uniqueness of every student and have various courses designed for different students. We have 6 courses for individuals with developmental disabilities that are part of our Employment Program in our Community Support Services Department.
1. Personal Development:
This course is designed to help students develop a positive attitude towards life. There are tasks which help improve their decision-making, team building, goal-setting, problem-solving, grooming, interpersonal skills, assertiveness, communication skills, and leadership skills. Our goal is to make students independent and capable individuals who can secure good jobs and contribute to society.
